Katrin Ebbert
Bass player & singer-songwriter
About me
Katrin Ebbert grew up in the Ruhr area of Germany and has lived near Arnhem for more than twenty years. She moved there to study bass guitar at ArtEZ Conservatory of Music, where she graduated in 2004. From then on she has dedicated her life to music, both as a performing musician and in her own projects.
As a bassist, Katrin has played in numerous bands and collaborated with all kinds of artists, including the humorous Mambo Kurt, Mike Leon Grosch (winner of Idols Germany) and the American soul singer Marla Glen. Together with them she performed mainly in Germany, Austria and Switzerland and stood at well-known festivals such as Sziget (HU), Rock am Ring (D) and Jazz Festival St. Moritz (CH). She also played on Marla Glen's latest album, 2020's Unexpected.
In addition to her work with other artists, Katrin has always had her own musical ambitions. Today the focus is on her indie-pop duo w o l k e, in which she writes, sings and, of course, plays bass. With w o l k e she released two albums, An Bord (2020) and Hinter der Unschuld (2024) and performs in both the Netherlands and Germany. Her music is intimate, narrative and shows her deep love for both melody and groove.
In addition to her performances, Katrin teaches bass guitar and double bass, band coaching and song- and lyricwriting workshops. She also shares her passion for music through her YouTube channel Kat Bass. Here she inspires others to enjoy making music and learn more on the instrument.
